Murder is still illegal right?
On My 22, 2013 Ibragim Todashev was questioned by FBI and local police in relation to knowledge he had in conenction to the April 15, 2013 bomings at the Boston Marathon. During the course of his eight hours of questioning, Todashev was shot and killed.
Initial comments from the FBI claimed that Todashev attacked and injured agents with a knife. This was later recanted and deemed false. There was no knife and none of the agents were injured. Subsequent accounts claimed that he overturned furniture and may have “lunged” at agents with a stick of some kind. Other news sources have reported he grabbed for an agent’s gun, or even a sword! Other accounts claimed he was unarmed. Having been in FBI custody for most of the day, the later account is most likely to me.
Despite these specious claims of knives and ‘lunging’, Todashev was shot and killed while in custody. He was shot six times in the torso and once in the head. The head shot is clearly visible from the autopsy photos and has been labeled by some as an ‘execution style’ shot, as it places the shooter behind Todashev.
All of this occurred while Ibragim Todashev was questioned without a lawyer and in the presence of at least four federal agents and two Massachusetts State Troopers.
A few days ago, the website Кавказская политика Kavkazskaya Politika (Politics of the Caucasus) displayed autoposy pictures of Todashev clearly showing his bullet riddled body. The images were first displayed at a press conference held in Moscow by Ibragim Todashev’s father Abdul-Baki Todashev on May 30, 2013.
If the State is allowed to murder suspects in custody, I think it’s safe to say that the mask of legitimacy insulating their violence has all but slipped away.

“Ibragim Todashev was shot seven times in his Orlando, Florida apartment on May 22, 2013 following eight hours of questioning by an FBI Special Agent from the Boston Field Office and at least one Massachusetts State Police trooper. Law enforcement sources have provided media outlets with several different versions of the events leading up to Todashev’s death. First, sources described Todashev being shot after he reportedly attacked the FBI agent with a knife. In later accounts, Todashev was described as being unarmed. In the most recent version of events Todashev reportedly overturned a table, knocking the FBI agent to the ground, before lunging at the agent with a pole or broomstick.”
